Biography
Parker (she/her) joined the CBHJ as a program manager for the opioid treatment Ecosystems initiative in October 2024. Prior to joining the CBHJ, she worked and volunteered in organizations focused on harm reduction. Parker was a program coordinator for a harm reduction initiative focused on equipping communities in the metro Detroit area with overdose first aid response training. She also completed an AmeriCorps term of service with the AmeriCorps Community Training for Overdose Rescue program and volunteered with CREW 2000, providing sexual health resources, mental health support, and connecting individuals with drug checking resources in Edinburgh Scotland. She has experience in volunteer management, program development, and public health and health policy research. Parker recently obtained a master's in global health policy where much of her focus related to the ways in which policy shapes health outcomes. She is committed to expanding access to substance use treatment and Narcan for those in need.
Responsibilities
Parker serves as project manager for the Opioid Treatment Ecosystem (OTE) initiative at the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice. She currently oversees the Well Wayne Stations project, a collaboration between CBHJ and Wayne County’s Department of Health, Human & Veteran Services, and will lead all CBHJ grants and projects involving harm reduction programming, education, and evaluation.
