Senior Project Coordinator, Center for Behavioral Health and Justice

Allison Gorine

Allison joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice (CBHJ) in March 2023 as a project coordinator. Prior to joining the CBHJ, she led the reentry team at the Michigan State Appellate Defender Office, developing comprehensive reentry plans and providing case management services for people getting out of prison. She is also a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for providing therapy to individuals who were incarcerated and have co-occurring mental health disorders. When working with individuals or amongst communities, she brings a humanistic approach that prioritizes the intersection of differing identities, values, beliefs, and experiences. She believes everyone is worthy of quality mental health and substance use treatment and hopes to expand access to services for those most in need.

Allison serves as a senior project coordinator for the Opioid Treatment Ecosystem initiative. She serves as the primary liaison within counties, navigating relationships between systems and county partners - including community mental health, county jail, probation/parole, courts, peer supports, and first responders - and implements evaluation design including data collection, surveys, interviews, and focus groups. As a senior coordinator, Allison provides mentorship to other coordinators and participates in the development of reports and proposals.
