Zarria Broner
Biography
Zarria joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice as a Program Assistant in April 2022. She obtained a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Michigan State University in May 2021. Past experiences include working as a research assistant with the Juvenile Risk Assessment Team at Michigan State University, and in cooperation with the Ingham County Juvenile Court and Child Protective Services, the Juvenile Risk Assessment Study investigates the predictive validity of risk assessments associated with drug relapse, sexual offending, human trafficking, and more and also prior to her time on the Juvenile Risk Assessment Team she served as a Pretrial Service intern with the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County working closely to aid the Pretrial Services Clerk in creating Pretrial Services files (PTC) and completing other assigned tasks. Through her past experiences, her passion for working towards initiatives to aid in systemic changes in the criminal justice system through research and other initiatives grew.
Responsibilities
Zarria currently serves as a program assistant for the Stepping Up project. Her responsibilities include coordination, communication, organization, and data collection efforts between CBHJ staff and county partners across the state, as well as coordination and support of meetings and evaluation and research activities at the CBHJ.
