Biography
Emily Pasman is a PhD Candidate in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. The goal of her research is to reduce overdose fatalities and related harms by increasing access to evidence-based health services for people with substance use disorders. Her program of research has three focal areas: (1) youth substance use and recovery; (2) expansion of harm reduction approaches; and (3) peer-delivered services. In each area she examines stigma as a primary barrier to effective service provision. Her work has been funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation and Transforming Youth Recovery and published in journals such as Addiction Science & Clinical Practice, Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, and Addiction Research & Theory.
