Tamara McQueen
Biography
Tamara joined the Center for Behavioral and Justice (CBHJ) as a Program Assistant in July of 2023. She graduated from Wayne State’s University’s Master of Social Work in the Innovation in Community, Policy, and Leadership track in May 2023. Previously graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice in May 2019. Prior to joining the CBHJ, Tamara has experience in various fields including holistic defense mitigation, juvenile justice, domestic violence, and child welfare. Through her professional experiences, Tamara is passionate about justice, community, and systems change.
Responsibilities
As a project coordinator for the Crisis Response initiative, Tamara coordinates emerging crisis response projects across Michigan. She leads interviews with mobile crisis managers, compiles and presents behavioral health data from dispatch and law enforcement agencies, and promotes best practices among public crisis response systems.
