Biography

Kali joined the CBHJ in May 2024 as a Program Assistant. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Wayne State University, where she is involved in research focused on recovery from serious mental illness and psychosocial rehabilitation programs. With previous experience at a nonprofit organization specializing in clients with serious mental illness, Kali served as an outreach counselor, providing advocacy and compassionate listening to clients. She holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Iowa, where she volunteered as a medical advocate for survivors of sexual assault and a legal advocate for survivors of domestic abuse. Kali is driven by a passion for utilizing her expertise in serious mental illness to drive systemic change, aiming to enhance accessibility and quality of recovery-oriented care for individuals with serious mental illness.

Responsibilities

Kali currently serves as a program assistant. Her responsibilities include coordination, communication, organization, and data collection efforts between CBHJ staff and community partners across the state, as well as coordination and support of meetings and evaluation and research activities at the CBHJ.
